How do I invite a friend to touringa?
You may invite a friend to touringa through the invite a friend page by entering their name and their email address. They will receive an invitation code by email and will then be able to use it to sign up.
How long is the invitation valid for?
Invitations are currently valid for one week or until you cancel them from the invite a friend page.
What if I send the invitation to a wrong address, can I cancel it?
Yes, the invite a friend page shows your pending invitations and allows you to cancel them.
How do I send someone a private message?
You can send anyone a private message by clicking on the Send message link on their profile page, or by responding to a private message they have sent you.
How do I reply to a private message?
You may reply to a private message by clicking the return arrow icon associated with the message you wish to reply to in your inbox, or the reply link in the read message page.
Can I see the messages that I have sent?
Yes, your sent messages are stored under your sent messages folder in your pigeon hole.
I deleted a message, is there somewhere where I can see it?
We are afraid not. Once you delete a message you will not be able to see it again.
I am receiving SPAM messages, how do I stop them?
If you receive any messages you believe are spam, please report them using the report link and we will investigate the matter
Who can see my profile?
Anyone who has joined touringa can see your profile page.
Can people outside of touringa see my information?
No, but in the future you might have the option of allowing non-touringa members to view your profile page and tours.
Why don’t I have a rating? How do I get one?
You have no ratings because no one gave you any reviews. Others have the option of giving you a review if you have been with them on a tour that has already finished.
I found a profile that seems to be fake what can I do about it?
Please report it to us using the report profile link and we will investigate.
I am trying to see someone’s profile but their name is not a link, why is that?
When a user removes their account from touringa, their profile page is removed and you cannot interact with them, but their reviews and their previous tours are still visible. This is why any link to their profile page is removed.
Why is the word tours always spelled with a small t?
For no particular reason, we just prefer it this way.
How do I join a tour?
You may join a tour by clicking on the join tour button on any tour page you like. You then send a request to the tour host and once it is accepted you will be part of the tour.
How do I host a tour?
You may host a tour by clicking on the host a tour button in the top menu. Fill in the form, upload a picture, preview your tour and if you like it post it to the world.
I hosted a tour, but now I want to change the tour information, how can I do that?
Once you post a tour you cannot change its details. This is to prevent hosts from changing tour details after some travelers have joined. If no one has joined your tour yet, cancel the tour and re-post another one.
What if my tour goes to more than one country, which country should I chose?
It’s really up to you but we suggest you chose the country you will spend the most time in, or the country your tour will start from.
Where can I see the people who I have accepted to join my tour?
Those who joined your tour will be displayed on your tour page. You may find your tours under the Hosted tours section in your My tours page.
Where can I see my hosted / joined tours?
You will find them under the tour subsection in the My tours section in the navigation menu on the left.
I joined a tour, but now I can’t go, what can I do?
You may always back out a tour by clicking on the back out button on the tour page. This however will entitle the tour host to give you a negative review for occupying a spot that could have been used by someone else, so make sure you speak with the host first before you back out unless you must.
I hosted a tour but I won’t be able to be there, what can I do?
If you definitely cannot be there, then you will have to cancel the tour. You may cancel the tour using the cancel button on the tour page. This will give the option to all your travelers to leave negative reviews, so make sure you speak with them first.
How can I tell what the weather will be like when the tour time comes?
Filling in the expected weather option is just to give a rough idea what the weather is normally like at the time of the year when the tour is taking place. Don’t worry, no one is expecting an accurate forecast.
How can I find a tour?
Enter a keyword in the search box and chose a region to search in. The search engine will look at the tour titles, countries and descriptions to find what you are looking for.
What do the different search preferences in advanced search mean?
Clicking on the advanced search box below the main search box shows more options, where you can specify your preferences. Click on the advanced search button again if you would like to hide the advanced tab. Below is a description of what each preference means.
How can I leave a review?
You will find a review card waiting to be submitted in the Reviews page under the My tours section once a tour you were part of has finished. You can then leave your review.
What review types are there and what’s the difference?
There are three review types, traveller, host and co-traveller. You review someone as a host when they have hosted you, as traveller when you have hosted them and as co-traveller when both of you have traveled on the same tour.
What if I do not review someone?
Nothing will happen, but we highly encourage you to leave accurate reviews. Trust in the touringa community is based on these reviews. The other person might also not leave you a review and you would lose out on building your reputation on touringa.
How can I see who wants to join my tours?
Any incoming requests will be visible in the requests page under the My tours section. These will show you who wants to join your tours, and allow you to respond to them.
What options do I have to respond?
You may accept or decline. In both cases you can send a message with your response in order to explain your actions should you wish.
I deleted a request but now I want to see it again, what can I do?
Once you delete a request you will not be able to recover it again, so make sure you only delete those requests you do not want again.
